In Fantasia, Mickey Mouse waves his hands and creates a harmonic symphony out of thin air.

With the AirHarp, you get to finally experience that same power in your own digits.

Stanford’s Adam Somers hacked the precision motion tracking device, Leap (similar to the Microsoft Kinect), to create an instrument you play without touching anything.

While the below video starts off a little slow, it picks up quick and it’s a brilliant proof of concept. The future possibilities of the Leap motion in the world of music and beyond are pretty sweet.

This definitely has potential, a great toy for small children and an amazing instrument for the mature maestro. Music is magic.
